Rest, Reflect, and Recharge

As the year comes to a close, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush of the holidays or start looking ahead to what’s next. But before diving into reflection or planning, I invite you to slow down and savor the moment.

Saying no is self-care is important because life can indeed be quite hectic. Finding ways to be consistent can be really difficult. Especially when we keep adding to our already full plates!

This season offers a unique chance to pause and soak in the small joys that surround us. Amidst the busyness, it’s a time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with what truly matters. You deserve it.

Savor the Season

Savor the season

The holidays can feel like a whirlwind, but they don’t have to. Savoring the season isn’t about doing more. It’s about slowing down and creating space to connect with what truly matters.

Here’s how you can savor the season with intention:

  • Pause for a moment of quiet:  Whether it’s a deep breath or a peaceful five minutes, allow yourself to just be.

  • Lean into peace:  Let go of what feels overwhelming or unnecessary, and focus on what brings calm and meaning.

  • Be present with loved ones:  Put down the phone, turn off the noise, and truly connect with the people around you.

  • Celebrate the small things:  Joy often lives in the little details, like a kind word, a cozy blanket, or the sparkle of holiday lights.

Pausing allows you to reconnect with yourself and enjoy the beauty of the season without the pressure of perfection.

My Reflections on 2024

Create space for ease-Coach courtney
Lightness is about creating space for ease, clarity, and simplicity.

At the start of this year, I chose lightness as my word of intention. Many people pick a word of the year as a way to focus their energy or set the tone for what they want to welcome into their life. Unlike a goal, which is specific and measurable, a word of the year is more fluid.

It serves as a reminder, a compass, and an invitation to align with what feels meaningful.

For me, lightness was about creating space for ease, clarity, and simplicity. I even bought a bracelet with the word stamped on it, thinking it would serve as a physical reminder.

Although I didn’t wear the bracelet often or consciously focus on the word day-to-day, as I reflect now, I see how lightness quietly shaped my year.

How did I experience lightness in 2024?

I created boundaries that needed to be in place, let go of things that were no longer serving me, and focused on keeping life simple yet intentional.

"The lesson reveals themselves only when you look back."

As the year comes to a close, savoring the season feels like the perfect way to conclude this year of lightness. I’m embracing time with my family, taking a break from work, and allowing myself to pause and recharge. These small, intentional acts remind me of the beauty in simplicity.

What I’ve realized through this reflection is that choosing a word of the year works, even when it doesn’t feel active. It’s not about perfection or constant focus. It is about allowing that word to gently guide you. Sometimes, the lessons reveal themselves only when you look back.

As you reflect on your year, what word might describe your 2024? If you were to choose a word of intention for 2025, what would it be?

I’m not sure what my word for 2025 will be yet, but I’ll keep you posted when I do.

Recharge for 2025

Once you’ve taken time to savor the season and reflect on 2024, it’s natural to start thinking about what’s next. A new year is an open door, inviting you to dream big and align with what truly lights you up.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to carry forward from 2024?

  • What am I ready to release?

  • What habits or routines will help me thrive?

  • Where do I feel the pull for something more?

2025 doesn’t need to start with a long list of resolutions. Instead, let it begin with intention. Let it be a year where you focus on the things that matter most and give yourself permission to grow at your own pace.

Let’s Rest, Reflect, and Recharge Together

As we close out 2024, I encourage you to find your own way to rest, reflect, and recharge. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. Whether it’s journaling, talking with a trusted friend, or simply sitting quietly with your thoughts, the goal is to honor how far you’ve come.

Let’s Rest, Reflect, and Recharge Together

Here’s how you can take these next steps:

  • Celebrate your progress.  Take time to acknowledge all that you’ve accomplished, big or small.

  • Embrace the lessons.  Reflect on the growth that came from challenges and how they shaped you.

  • Step into 2025 with clarity.  Think about what truly matters and how you want to move forward.
