Questions I got asked
-
Who am I and what is a life coach?A life coach is a certified professional who helps individuals take actionable steps towards their goals and transformation, emphasizing forward action in contrast to therapy that analyzes the past. See how I have helped others.
-
What makes you special?I have been a life coach since 2019, before starting my LAF (Living Alcohol-Free) journey in 2022. My wellness journey began long before that, providing me with a deep and broad perspective. My background as a life coach equips me with unique skills and insights to help you achieve your goals. Many coaches in the alcohol-free space share the drive to help others reach freedom, which I greatly admire. However, my experience as a life coach adds a special sauce to my programs and client support. I created the acronym LAF to emphasize "living" first, reflecting my commitment to a balanced and fulfilling life. I share my journey, obstacles, and strategies when they are relatable to your challenges—offering insights beyond what I discuss publicly. I provide continuous support between sessions, ensuring my clients never feel alone and have accountability that truly works for them. Read my full journey.
-
Is your service personalized, or more from generic templates like courses or pre-recorded videos? My 1-on-1 coaching is 100% personalized to meet your unique needs and goals.
-
What are your qualifications? Are you certified?Yes, I have five coaching certifications: one in health coaching, one in life coaching, and three in alcohol-free coaching. My experiences also include being part of a big family, working as a teacher, always being a listener and helper, and being a mom to two awesome kids (19 & 16). Want to see them? Here they are!
-
What if I already have a therapist? Can we still work together?Absolutely. Many of my clients have both a therapist and me. My training and scope of practice in both life coaching and alcohol-free coaching allow me to support you appropriately. I can help you build a support team, including a therapist, nutritionist, personal trainer, or interventionist, while being your accountability partner.
-
How are you different from therapy or other mental health professionals? While therapy often focuses on understanding and processing past experiences, life coaching is future-oriented, helping you set and achieve goals. Therapists diagnose and treat mental health conditions, whereas I focus on personal and professional development. I share my journey when it's relatable to you and provide support between sessions. Our partnership is built on mutual understanding, accountability, PMA (Positive Mental Attitude), and confidentiality.
